a) Man cannot be godly on his own or by the law

b) Man needs a new heart

c) This new heart comes through Christ, not be works

a) Incarnation revealed God in the flesh

b) The Spirit vindicated him

(1) View #1: Spirit refers to the third person of the Trinity

(a) The Spirit attests to the person of Christ

(b) The Spirit attests to the work of Christ

(2) View #2: spirit refers to Christ’s own human spirit or nature

(a) His life vindicated His claims

(b) His resurrection vindicated His claims

c) Beheld by angels

(1) Angels were present at the announcement of His birth

(2) Angels ministered to Him at the beginning of His ministry

(3) Angels ministered to Him during His ministry

(4) Angels were present at the resurrection

d) Preached unto the world

4. Christianity in a nutshell

a) Christ came into the world, died for sins, rose again, honored by angels, preached to the lost, believed by the elect, and ascended to heaven.
