Homosexual Agenda

Text: Ro. 1:19-32

Introduction:

• The purpose of Romans is to show that the only way to righteousness is to get righteousness from God (1:17)
• We will see the depravity (unrighteousness of man in this chapter). “There is none righteous.” Only God is righteous. To make it to heaven we must have His righteousness which we obtain through Jesus Christ.
• The subject tonight is distasteful, but in the Bible
• The description in vs. 29-31 is a perfect description of the majority of the people in the homosexual movement. The rosy picture portrayed by the media is erroneous.
• We will face this issue more and more in the upcoming years. You cannot watch a TV show without it having a homosexual character or showing homosexuality in a positive light.

1. Every mainline denomination has at minimum, a group or larger within it that is in favor of homosexuality

Referring to the writings of Jefferson he said, “We are redefining in practical terms the immutable ideals [of the Founding Fathers] that have guided us from the beginning.”

Two days later he stated that public schools across the nation should institute pro-homosexual diversity programs. They should be designed, in his words, “to teach [children] a different way.”

2. The goal is to do away with the Judeo-Christian ethic by redefining it, not by abolishing it!

II. Biblical View

III. Homosexual Agenda

A. Legitimizing same-sex marriage

2. Their position is that adult/child sex is good, not wrong

IV. Myths of the Movement

A. 10% of the population is homosexual

1. This is a myth promulgated by the Kinsey studies

a) Those studies were biased and unscientific

b) Yet they continue to be used by those pursuing sexually bizarre ideas

2. Only about 2% of the population is homosexual

B. It occurs in animals, so it is normal animal behavior

1. We are not animals

2. Using this reasoning, cannibalism and murder would be justified

3. Animals are not the ultimate in determining human behavior

C. It is genetic

1. Again, this is debatable. The studies do not show this to be true.

2. Even if it were, there are two answers

a) All sin is genetic. God changes us so that we can overcome our sinful nature

b) There are some people who are more genetically pre-disposed to homosexuality than others

c) There are people who are more genetically predisposed to alcoholism. Yet, of these people, not all become alcoholics.

d) Becoming an alcoholic involves first choosing to drink

e) A person with a predisposition to alcoholism does not have to become an alcoholic. In fact, 50% don’t. If, however, they allow themselves to be in a position where drinking is encouraged, they will become alcoholics.

f) The same is true of homosexuals. They may have a greater disposition toward it, but they do not have to go down that path

g) If, however, they put themselves in a position of being influenced in that direction, they will have a greater tendency to go there than those with a lesser predisposition

D. It is physiological (hypothalmus)

E. American Psychiatric Association changed its position from anti to pro on this issue

1. They will quote authorities when they agree, but not when they disagree

2. They changed for PC reasons, not research ones

F. Homosexuals cannot change

G. More child sex crimes are committed by heterosexuals

1. More in quantity because there are more heterosexuals

2. Percentage wise, homosexuals have a far higher percentage

3. In one study, 1 in 4 homosexuals admitted to sex with kids under age 16 (Molestation!)

1. Civil rights are not for chosen behaviors, but for innate physical characteristics

2. If we allow them Civil Rights protection, we then need to extend to other behaviors these protections also

I. Homosexuals are normal, healthy people

1. Consider the practices and see if this is normal

a) gays average between 10 and 110 different sexual partners per year, greatly increasing the risk of contracting and passing on STD's

b) gays average 68 rectal encounters per year. Rectal intercourse is probably the most sexually efficient way to spread Hepatitis B & C, HIV, syphilis and other blood-borne diseases.

c) one-third of gays admit to fisting (where the hand is inserted into the rectum). This practice often results in tears of the rectum resulting in the transmission of blood-borne diseases and the possibility of rectal damage resulting in the patient being confined to diapers for life.

d) 80% admit to licking/inserting their tongues into the anus of partners, thus ingesting medically significant amounts of feces.¹¹ The result is that the “annual incidence of hepatitis A in . . . homosexual men was 22 per cent, whereas no heterosexual men acquired hepatitis A.”

e) 25% of white gays admitted to sex with boys 16 or younger. In other words, 25% engaged in molestation!

2. Consider the health

^a) Homosexuals are 41 times more likely to get syphilis

^b) Homosexuals are 10 time more likely to have Hepatitis B

c) Homosexuals are 5 times more likely to have other STD’s

d) 15-30% of gays are HIV positive, compared to less than 1% of heterosexuals

e) 70-78% of gays report having had a sexually transmitted disease

f) Consider, also, the affect that the homosexual lifestyle has on the life span of homosexuals. When obituaries of homosexuals were compared to those of the rest of the population, the results are startling. For non-homosexuals, the median age of death of married men was 75 and 80% of them died old (age 65 or older). For unmarried or divorced men, the median age of death was 57 and 32% died old. Married women averaged 79 at death while 85% died old. Unmarried and divorce women averaged 71 and 60% died old.⁶

g) On the other hand, the median age of death for homosexuals was significantly lower. In fact, less than 2% lived to old age. As for the median age of death, if the cause of death was AIDS, the median age was only 39. For those who died of other causes, the median age of death was a paltry 42 and only 9% died old. Lesbians fared a little better, with the median age of death being 45 while 26% died old.⁷ The evidence is overwhelming that homosexuality poses a grave danger to one’s health. In fact, homosexuality is far more dangerous than cigarette smoking!

J. The Bible does not condemn homosexuality, only promiscuity
