ARGUMENT AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY FROM A MEDICAL AND HISTORICAL POINT OF VIEW

Note: This a letter that I sent to a couple of newspapers in Pennsylvania when I lived there which they printed. A shortened version was printed in the Evansville Courier paper.

Dear Editor,

The request by homosexuals for protection against discrimination is nothing more than a smokescreen to hide the promotion of a more radical gay agenda¾ an agenda where homosexuality is accepted as a legitimate lifestyle, where homosexuality becomes part of the sex education curriculum for all age levels, where gay marriages are legalized, where homosexuals have the right to adopt, where affirmative action for gays is implemented, and where the barriers between adult-child sex are discarded. Laws are already in place that prevent discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. What gays really want is another incremental step toward legitimizing their lifestyle and forcing its acceptance upon society.

Those promoting the gay agenda characterize everyone who disagrees with the gay agenda as homophobes, bigots, and hate mongers. They fail to recognize that many of us who reject the gay agenda, do so based on strong medical and historical evidence that homosexuality is detrimental to society as a whole, as well as the individual. We oppose the gay agenda, not because we are homophobes, but because of its deleterious effect on society. Consider, for example, the following medical statistics:

· Homosexuals are 41 times more likely to get syphilis¹

· Homosexuals are 10 time more likely to have Hepatitis B²

· Homosexuals are 5 times more likely to have other STD’s³

· 15-30% of gays are HIV positive, compared to less than 1% of heterosexuals⁴

· 70-78% of gays report having had a sexually transmitted disease⁵

Homosexuals are 24 times more likely to commit suicide and 116 times more likely to be murdered⁶

Consider, also, the affect that the homosexual lifestyle has on the life span of homosexuals. When obituaries of homosexuals were compared to those of the rest of the population, the results are startling. For non-homosexuals, the median age of death of married men was 75 and 80% of them died old (age 65 or older). For unmarried or divorced men, the median age of death was 57 and 32% died old. Married women averaged 79 at death while 85% died old. Unmarried and divorce women averaged 71 and 60% died old.⁷

On the other hand, the median age of death for homosexuals was significantly lower. In fact, less than 2% lived to old age. As for the median age of death, if the cause of death was AIDS, the median age was only 39. For those who died of other causes, the median age of death was a paltry 42 and only 9% died old. Lesbians fared a little better, with the median age of death being 45 while 26% died old.⁸ The evidence is overwhelming that homosexuality poses a grave danger to one’s health. In fact, homosexuality is far more dangerous than cigarette smoking!

Not only should the medical statistics alarm us, but so should the practices of homosexuals. Consider the following behavioral patterns of homosexuals taken from the major surveys on homosexual behavior.

· gays average between 10 and 110 different sexual partners per year, greatly increasing the risk of contracting and passing on STD's⁹

CDC report revealed that 50% of male homsoexuals have had over 500 different sexual partners. For AIDS victims the average is 1,100 different sexual partners

· gays average 68 rectal encounters per year. Rectal intercourse is probably the most sexually efficient way to spread Hepatitis B & C, HIV, syphilis and other blood-borne diseases.¹⁰

· one-third of gays admit to fisting (where the hand is inserted into the rectum). This practice often results in tears of the rectum resulting in the transmission of blood-borne diseases and the possibility of rectal damage resulting in the patient being confined to diapers for life.¹¹

· 80% admit to licking/inserting their tongues into the anus of partners, thus ingesting medically significant amounts of feces.¹² The result is that the "annual incidence of hepatitis A in . . . homosexual men was 22 per cent, whereas no heterosexual men acquired hepatitis A."¹³

· 25% of white gays admitted to sex with boys 16 or younger.¹⁴ In other words, 25% engaged in molestation!

Two homosexual researchers found that 73% of adult male homosexuals had sex with boys age 19 or younger.

These figures should alarm us. One reason that they haven’t is that they have been hidden from the American people. We have not been told the whole story about the homosexual movement. The homosexual movement has succeeded in painting a much rosier picture of itself than is actually the case. They have made homosexuality a civil rights issue, rather than a medical issue. As a result, our society as a whole is threatened from the rampages of STD's as well as the financial burden of paying for these problems, and we our powerless to say anything because it supposedly violates their civil rights.

Yet, I have a right to protect my kids from a lifestyle that is self-destructive. That is why I do not want that kind of lifestyle legitimized. More importantly, I want to protect my kids from the 25% of homosexuals who admit to molestation. The truth is that they cannot reproduce naturally, so they must do it by recruiting. How do they recruit? By taking advantage of underage kids¾ molestation! One final word, throughout history, all civilizations and major religions have condemned homosexuality. No society has ever survived that has tolerated its practice. It is self-destructive behavior that weakens society. As Linda Chaez, former Executive Director of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights says:

Historically, virtually all societies have condemned incest, adultery, and homosexuality because such practices, in distinctive ways, threaten the family….Over the last 25 years, we have become increasingly tolerant of sexually permissive behavior. But that tolerance has had consequences. We face epidemics in sexually transmitted diseases, teenage pregnancies, abortions, illegitimacy, rape, and sexual abuse…The American family may not be an endangered species, but it is far from thriving.

Let’s quit hiding the gay lifestyle behind the smoke screen of civil rights and confront the issue with the truth. You don’t have to be a homophobe to oppose the gay lifestyle. You just have to know the facts.
